Hello, I am Joe Diemer. I make birdcages of stainless steel, copper, and other beautiful materials, with the goal of reviving ornament for the modern home.

Lecture and Giveaways April 17th

"The Painless Appeal of Stainless Steel" is the extremely erudite title of a lecture to be held at Portland's Curiosity Club on Tuesday April 17th at 6 PM.

I'll be speaking about how I've made stainless work for my birdcages and wire goods, and I'll show lesser-known tips and ways to work with stainless steel for those who, like me, don't own a TIG welder. There will be a demo on electropolishing (the polishing of stainless with electrical current and acid), and trivia giveaways of schnazzy wire goods.

Come say hello, ask questions, and hopefully win something:

The Curiosity Club meets in the back of Hand-Eye Supply: 23 NW 4th Ave in Portland, which is just past the Chinatown gate.

6 - 6:30 PM
